大卫J. Dausey, Ph值.D., Ed.D., is the executive vice president and provost of Duquesne 大学. As provost, Dausey oversees all the university’s academic operations, including over 200 degree and certificate programs across Duquesne’s 10 schools.

An innovative and dynamic academic leader, Dausey has founded or advanced new schools, departments, institutes and programs. He has been instrumental in fundraising millions of dollars to advance new facilities and programs in medicine, public health, cybersecurity, engineering and public history. Notably, he was pivotal in creating Duquesne 大学’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, the institution’s boldest initiative to date. 

In addition to serving as provost, Dausey is a professor in Duquesne’s schools of health sciences and osteopathic medicine. He also has an honorary faculty appointment as a distinguished service professor at Carnegie Mellon 大学, where he formerly served as a faculty member and the senior director of health programs and initiatives.

Dausey’s teaching focuses on health systems, policy, program evaluation and epidemiology. He has earned several awards and recognitions for his teaching, including the 2010 Martcia Wade Teaching Award at Carnegie Mellon 大学. For his active role in mentoring students, Dausey also received the Alpha Theta Mentorship Award and the Panhellenic Interfraternity Council Role Model Award.

An internationally recognized epidemiologist, Dausey is an elected fellow of the American College of Epidemiology. He has worked closely with senior health officials in over twenty countries and experts from international organizations and foundations such as the World Health Organization, the United Nations, the Global Health and Security Initiative, and the Rockefeller Foundation. Over his career, he has led health projects across the globe, directing millions of dollars in extramural research funding. 他的 extensive academic contributions include numerous books, research articles and reports, many of which have gained national media attention.

As a national advocate for education, healthcare and public health, Dausey has conducted hundreds of media interviews and written commentaries for various news outlets. He has also served on the board of directors of many community organizations focused on philanthropy, academia, healthcare, economic development, and arts and culture.

Before Duquesne, Dausey served as the executive vice president and provost of Mercyhurst 大学, a Catholic university in Erie, Pennsylvania. He also worked as a researcher with the RAND Corporation and as an analyst at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

A Pittsburgh native, Dausey grew up in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. 他赢得了 bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in psychology from Mercyhurst 大学. 他赢得了 master’s and doctoral degrees in epidemiology from Yale 大学. 他赢得了 second doctoral degree in higher education management, with distinction, from the 大学 宾夕法尼亚.
